The Specifics

How well do you know the people who will be on the receiving end of the good work you want to do? What are their strengths? What do they like about their community? What would they change? And do they want your help in creating that change? Getting to know the people who will benefit from your work is the first step to effective public service, allowing you to challenge your assumptions and transform altruism into impact.

Would you host a town hall meeting? Conduct a series of interviews? Travel to interact with a community in another region?

Submit an idea for how you would spend $1,000 to better understand and build deeper relationships with members of the community you serve between July 11 and August 8 (noon Pacific Time). Our judges will select which applicants’ ideas pass to the voting round. Then, we’ll open it up to a public vote between August 9 and August 22 (noon Pacific Time). Rally your colleagues and friends to get behind your effort and join the public in selecting the winner of the $1,000 grant.

The winner will also receive a copy of Echoing Green’s Work on Purpose book signed by Lance Armstrong, Doug Ulman, Cheryl Dorsey, and the book’s author, Lara Galinsky.

New ways to learn faster, deeper, and with less stress. It is important to understand that we should look not at the teaching ,but at the ways in which children learn. And ask yourself how focusing skills can enhance the learning process.Throughout the history of education there has never been any support for the students in assisting both the classroom teacher and the learners within. If educators are to take education searious keep in mind that the main purpose of a students education is to focus on the needs of the student. Now with the smart vision method we can provide young people with the tools and skills they want and deserve.

Hi. I just noticed your response to Washington regarding US vs international opportunities and have a related question. I am and American with a US based company doing work in Kenya. The proposal I am considering would impact a community that I have a long relationship with in Kenya.

Would that qualify for this grant competition? Thanks.

Hi Helen! Since you are a US resident and your company is based in the US, you are eligible! The project can be done internationally. Email us at maker@goodinc.com if you have questions!

Hi, Helen had a great question. The same thing goes for me. I am also a US resident and the organization I work for is based in the US but my project will be implemented internationally. Awesome.

I respect and honor rule number number 2. But since ECHOING GREEN encourages people to be bold positively, I want to request to participate from Kenya because I'm planing to do what has not been done with 1,000 dollars to help move the wold forward. May I participate?

Kind regards,

Washington
