How would you cultivate a deeper relationship with the community you’d like to serve?

The entire basis of A Voice For The Innocent is to create a community of victims and help them (us) to build a support system for each other. We want to help people come and share their stories of sexual abuse or rape with people who have gone through similar experiences. There are countless people who have gone through various, similar horrific events who feel like they can't tell anyone, feel like they are alone in their situation, or simply don't realize that they are going something abusive or out-of-the-ordinary, as shocking as that may seem. Along with helping build a support group, we will offer resources for people who wish to report rape/abuse, get counseling, and even have access to substance abuse and suicide hotlines. We will also provide statistics to help raise awareness about the prevalence of sex crimes in our communities. We want to curb the feelings of shame and guilt that come along with being raped/abused, and let the victims know that they aren't alone.

How would you use the $1,000 to turn your idea into a reality?

My first step is to file for my 510©(3), using this money to cover the filing fees. I will also begin to have large amounts of literature printed out to hand them out at local events that I host. I plan on having tee shirts printed, along with stickers and buttons. I want to ‘paint the town’ with our message. I want to get the communities to understand that this is a huge problem, and our voices will not be silent anymore. I want to sponsor events…get people talking. Take away the shame from being a victim, and turn it into pride that we are survivors. To do this, to spread the word, I have to put money into promotion, brand recognition, and the printing to help me do this. The $1000 would help get this all started.

my friend's half-sister makes $61 hourly on the computer. She has been laid off for five months but last month her pay check was $13718 just working on the computer for a few hours. Here's the site to read more http://www.Cloud65.com

I am just about to discover that my body belongs to me...at an age of 52...! A lot of it has to do with christianity...as these morans seems to believe that we are born with the sinns of our forfathers...and they also seem to belive that there is only space for love for ONE other person in anybodys heart...wich of coz is bullshit...!! If some of you remember these cute little green symbol with the 3 branches from the Salvation Army...(interesting name, by the way...(!))...so...if you promise not to tell anyone...I look at this symbol just as I look at the swastica...and I have felt terrible humilated all the times I had to turn to the salvation army to have some food...all the years I have been living in the streets...for some reason...it seemed to be axcepted and cool to be pedofiles among these bastards in the "salvation army"...with there pathetic lidl uniforms...amd at that time...when I was just a lidl boy...they hated homosexuals...but thanx god there are some kids to be fucked in there asses. I know they still cannot deal with guy people...if pedofilian pracsise is still proper behavioure among those brave soldiers today...I really dont know...but it would be really interesting to know something about it...coz I am considered a peaceful person...and I have been daily drugged for 40 years because of these respectable lidl bastards with their pathetic believe and faith in god...but when I see some of these people...I do feel like killing...coz they have been destroying my life...with good assistance of the government, the state, the borgouise and the shrinks....

This is a great idea at heart, but many people are into having a "good idea," making t-shirts with the logo on it, and talking to a few people about being "strong." I encourage you to sit down with a business minded person, and develop a strong plan of action. Good intentions can spend money poorly, but good intentions with a strong plan have a much better chance of survival.

You definitely have a point. I can't speak for Jamie, but I can tell you that we have been meeting for many weeks now, discussing this idea. Jamie has a unique ability to rally people to his cause, and he has received an overwhelming response of people offering help. I'm sure he will be taking them up on that. Also, A Voice for the Innocent is much more than a t-shirt and a logo. We are developing a website that will give victims of sexual abuse a number of resources and allow them to share their stories with others. Through the website, victims of sexual abuse will find comfort in knowing that they are not alone, and that we can all heal together.

Jamie, I'm so proud of you. When you get off your feet, or along the way, I would love to hook you up with friends in New Orleans in social work who have clients that will benefit from something like this. Fabulous, fabulous job.

That sounds great! Thank you so much for the kind words. Until we get to that point, I would love it if you would just share what we are doing, and perhaps get some more folks over here to vote. Thank you so much!

Dude, you can save the money on filing fees by finding another organization to be your fiscal sponsor. I've got one for my group. It means they lend you their tax exempt number so folks can get writeoffs for donations. That leaves more money for you to use on the project.

Thanks for the tip! I have already gotten my EIN, so any donations that are given to me can still be written off. I will look into a fiscal sponsor as well though. Thanks!
